Cruciferous Sprouts

Dear Friends

Chronic Disease is the new norm.  We see it all around us:  obesity, metabolic syndrome, fatty liver, diabetes, CVD, cancer, COPD, asthma, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, autism, IBD, IBS,  auto immune disease, arthritis, UTI, and many more.

Doctors, you are our heroes on the frontline in the battle for your patients’ health, and for helping them to prevent their occurrence in the first place.

Key finding in research for the root cause of these chronic illnesses: a continual low-grade inflammation (LGI), termed by scientists as “inflammageing” (Franceschi & Campisi, 2014).

Therapeutic Food Supplements were designed with powerful plant polyphenols, pedigreed probiotic strains  (with their metabolites and microRNAs), and key nutraceuticals to supports the reduction of LGI.  The results are easily measured:  lowering inflammatory markers.

Summary of the Therapeutic Food Offering:

Polyphenol products:  Garlic (antimicrobial, blood pressure regulation), Blueberry Extract (brain and nerve regeneration), Glucosinolates & Sulforaphanes (liver support), Chlorella (absorption of heavy metals and toxins), Be Regular (fiber from ancient seeds – a must have), and Phyto Power (DNA integrity).

Probiotic Products: Supernatant Synbiotic, and Original Synbiotic. Both powerfully effective for GI health

Probiotic + Polyphenols: High ORAC Synbiotic (post antibiotic therapy), Beta Glucan Synbiotic (Cardiovascular and GI support), No. 7 Systemic Booster (designed to combat the root cause of chronic illnesses), and Cranberry Pomegranate Synbiotic (UTI, and prostate support).

Nutraceuticals:  Fructo Borate Complex (bone and joints), Chromium (blood sugar control), Energy (plant ultra minerals), No. 7 (B12, Folate, chromium, D3, and Fructo Borate), Weight-Less (7 keto).

Nutraceuticals + Polyphenols:  Energy (increase ATP levels), Weight-less (weight loss and blood sugar control), and Chromium with high active Beet Root (blood sugar control, increase circulation), No 7 Systemic Booster.

All of our plant materials are eco-farmed, or wild-crafted, selected for their exceptional high-actives, many of which we standardize.  There are no excipients in our Therapeutic Food Supplement (e.g. flowing agents, sweeteners, natural flavors, emulsifiers, etc.).  We are purists in this regard, wanting to give you absolutely the strongest possible natural product for you restoring health.

Dear Doctor

Aging is characterized by a condition of rising levels of free radicals that generates increasing cellular senescence.

Only recently has aging itself been viewed as a treatable condition, with an etiology related to excessive ROS levels that lead to cellular senescence, a process by which cells enter a permanent state of cell cycle arrest. Although senescent cells lost their proliferative capacity, they still are able to secrete a range of proinflammatory molecules through the senescence associated secretory phenotype (SASP).

Patients with coronary artery disease show increased expression of the proinflammatory molecules MCP-1, IL-6, IL-1β and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), all of which are secreted by senescent cells through the SASP.

In Serino and Salazar’s 2019 review, Protective role of polyphenols against vascular inflammation, aging and cardiovascular disease, they discuss molecular mechanisms by which polyphenols improve anti-oxidant capacity, mitochondrial function and autophagy, while reducing oxidative stress, inflammation and cellular senescence in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) and endothelial cells (ECs). They also  discuss the therapeutic potential of polyphenols in reducing the effects of the SASP and the  incidence of CVD.

The following Therapeutic Food protocol makes sense in light of Serino and Salazar’s research. (See also Food Science below)

Therapeutic Food Support:

Suggestions:  Add one tsp No. 7 to your smoothy, or to your shot glass of diluted juice add one tsp No. 7 and swig down the Glucosinolate capsule and 2 capsule of Phyto Power.   Try it for a couple of months and see how you feel.

Food Science:

Lai et al. (2015) reported that total fruit intake (g/day) derived from a 217-item Food Frequency Questionnaire was obtained from 30,458 women (aged 35–69 years) at baseline from 1995–1998., the richest sources of phenolic compounds, correlated with improved cardiovascular health with an estimated 6–7% reduction in deaths from CVDs for every 80 g portion. This study concluded that total fruit intake rather than intake of a specific type of fruit is protective against CVD. In terms of specific types of fruits, commonly researched varieties include berries, such as blackberries, raspberries, black raspberries and blueberries, grapes, citrus fruit, pomegranates, strawberries and apples. These fruits are rich in polyphenols like flavanols, flavonols, anthocyanins, procyanidins, sterols, carotenoids, and hydroycinnamic acids.

The Therapeutic Food Supplement protocol above provides a rich diversity of high active fruits and vegetables.

Dear Doctor

The ageing of our society presents an increasing number of older patients, individuals who are dealing with a whole host of chronic diseases, including cancer, ischemic heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and others (Jin et al. 2015).

Researchers are finding that unchecked chronic low-grade inflammation (LGI) is a major etiological driver.  According to the WHO, Harvard, the Mayo Clinic, NIH, and other research institutions,  dietary factors play a major role in the reduction of these morbidities (Calder et al., 2017).

The No. 7 Systemic Booster:  The New Longevity is a very powerful anti-inflammatory, the root cause of chronic illnesses.

No7_ 8.15.18

The daily dose is one tsp a day.  It has a bitter chocolate taste (there is no chocolate in it). Therefore mix a tsp of No. 7 with your favorite healthy juice.  Make it a jiggers shot, or mix in a large glass and sip slowly.  It is delicious and you will feel its energy giving power.

A powerful combination is to make your drink and then take one capsule of the Energy and one capsule of the Glucosinolate and Sulforaphane for liver support.

Dear Friends

We are excited to announce our new and incredibly potent: organic broccoli cruciferous sprout. Our Glucosinolates & Sulforaphanes is a powerhouse, providing a four fold increase in the phase 2 enzymes inducing and cancer preventing molecules for which it is named.

G and S

Notice that the label above guarantees a Glucosinolate level of 15,000 ppm, a Glucoraphanin level of 10,000 ppm and a Sulforaphane potential of 4,000 ppm.  However, as you can see in the Certificate of Analysis below, the actual levels of these three most important ingredients are much higher, with the Glucosinolates at 21,359 ppm, the Glucoraphanins at 19,407 ppm, and the Sulforaphane yield at 8,733 ppm.  Our old beloved Cruciferous Sprouts product offered a 1500 ppm sulforaphane potential yield.

Organic Broc Sprout CofA

Recommended dose:  one to two capsules daily. Excellent before bed for liver detox.

Sulforaphane (SF) is a phytochemical that displays both anticarcinogenic and anticancer activity. SF modulates many cancer‐related events, including susceptibility to carcinogens, cell death, cell cycle, angiogenesis, invasion and metastasis.   Zhang and Tang (2007) review its discovery and development as a cancer chemopreventive agent.

The preponderance of evidence available from in vitro, animal, and human studies supports the association of sulforaphane with phase II enzyme inductions.  Broccoli sprouts are the richest source of glucoraphanin which is the direct precursor to sulforaphane.  Since broccoli sulforaphane is one of the most potent inducers of phase II enzymes, exploration into broccoli’s impact on other areas of human health, such as cardiovasucular health and upper airway immunity, has been suggested (James et al., 2012).

In Qidong, China, a region where exposures to food-and air-borne carcinogens has been considerable, clinical trials indicate that interventions with well characterized preparations of broccoli sprouts may enhance the detoxication of aflatoxins and air-borne toxins, which may in turn attenuate their associated health risks including cancer in exposed individuals (Kensler et al., 2012).

We will continue to discuss this powerhouse product in our next email.

What’s new at BioImmersion?

September 18, 2018

Dear Friends

What’s new at BioImmersion?   Plenty!  And, we are very excited to share the good news this week.  First, we are almost done updating all the labels.  Thank you, Hovie Hawk, our amazing website and label art designer who we think has done a beautiful job! Secondly, we continually seek out and incorporate into our formulas more powerful plant materials and bio-available nutriceuticals. Our proprietary blends of naturally occuring, whole probiotics, complete with their supernatant and ORNs are better than ever. We have been working in the last two years with our scientists and researchers to advance and update our formulations according to the latest scientific findings.

As ususal, we are not trendy or commercial – we hold firm to scientific research and formulate accordingly.

Here is a glimpse of four advanced formulas.  I’ll expand on them in the coming weeks.

(1)  GLUCOSINOLATES & SULFORAPHANES:  Organic Broccoli Sprouts

  • This product advances the Cruciferous Sprout Complex, with six times  the potency of sulforaphane potential.
  • Glucosinolate is the precursor molecule to glucoraphanin which is the precursor to sulforaphanes.
  • Sulforaphes enhance detoxication of aflatoxins, the most dangerous of mold toxins, and air-borne pollutions, and is a major inducer of phanse 2 detoxication enzymes for liver detox.

G and S

(2)  ENERGY:  Plant Ultra Minerals with Apple Extract

  • Our proprietary blend of ancient plant minerals and apple extract has been clinically testedto increase ATP levels by enhancing mitochondrial ATP production.
  • Resistance training with healthy males saw increases in their strength and endurance while taking this product.
  • Supplementation with our Energyblend of ancient peat minerals and apple extract enhanced resistance training-induced skeletal muscle hypertrophy without affecting fat mass or blood chemistry of rhese healthy males.

ENERGY

(3)  No. 7 Systemic Booster:  The New Longevity

  • The new longevity: In research, aging is linked to a variety of chronic illnesses that occur due to a continual inflammatory state in the body, which accelerates stem cells’ deterioration and ultimately lessens our ability to regenerate.
  • The No 7 combination of Polyphenols (from high active berries, fruit, veggies, and greens), Fibers, Prebiotic, B12, Fructo Borate, Folate, Chromium, and the new blend of naturally occurring whole Probiotics with their Supernatant and ORNs offer potent calming nutrients and rejuvination.
  • The No 7 boosts many systems in the body: the GI Tract, Urogenital, Osteo-skeletal, Cardiovascular, Brain and Neurological, Detoxification, Metabolic, Digestive, and Energy.

No7_ 8.15.18

(4)  High ORAC Synbiotic:  Post Antibiotic Care

  • The High ORAC is 10 times more potent with Total ORAC of 40,000ppm! The advanced formula’s Polyphenols re-energize our bodies by boosting nitric oxide levels in the blood; stimulate antioxidant activity while reducing ROS; improve cellular oxygen consumption.
  • The new naturally occuring whole probiotics with Supernatant and ORNs create a more acidic ph balance in the gut, allowing a better growth of good organisms while creating an antimircrobial effect that protects the GI tract membrane from opportinistic pathogen- e.g., Candida.
  • Since antibiotics often unbalance the microbiome (GI Tract) resulting in overgrowth of yeast in the gut and vagina, we have chosen plant extracts that have antimicrobial properties, and together with the probiotic, reduce pathogenic populations, calm the GI, and restore normal balance to the microbiome.

Federico et al. in their research paper, Federico, A., Morgillo, F., Tuccillo, C., Ciardiello, F., & Loguercio, C. (2007). Chronic inflammation and oxidative stress in human carcinogenesis.  International Journal of Cancer, 121(11), 2381-2386, state that a wide array of chronic inflammatory conditions predispose susceptible cells to neoplastic transformation.

Inflammatory condition occurs when the generation of free radicals and active inter-mediates in a system exceeds the system’s ability to neutralize and eliminate them.  Reactive intermediates of oxygen and nitrogen may directly oxidze DNA, or may interfere with DNA repair.

The above link takes you to this review which focuses on some of these intricate events by discussing the relationships occurring among oxidative/nitrosative/metabolic stress, inflammation and cancer.

You can see now when contemplating on the features and benefits of our products outlined above that they have major applications for this chronic inflammation condition and its down stream consequences.
